THE BULLY IS A DRIVER’S BEST FRIEND
Movexx International from Veenendaal, the Netherlands, is presenting a number of versions of its electric drag machine at TERTS 2007. The Bully is an intelligent solution which simplifies the handling of plant carts and roll containers.
Bursting with enthusiasm
Drivers are highly enthusiastic about this breakthrough invention. According to work safety laws, drivers are only allowed to move a rollcontainer of over 250 kg once a day, and then only if it functions correctly. Drivers working with carts or roll containers within the food or distribution sectors know full well that this is not always the case.
Dragging cars is a breezen
By using The Bully, drivers will have no trouble at all pulling each cart to its intended place, even on an incline. A test among users indicated that 87% of transport companies were highly satisfied with the machine. They also reported that their drivers could do their job more easily and that there was an increase in efficiency due to quicker work.
24 Volts traction battery
The Bully is powered by a 24-Volt traction battery, which supplies three days of power when used normally. It can be charged by means of a charging station or directly via the vehicle’s network. The Bully fits in the trailer in most cases, although it can also be transported in a box connected to the chassis if needed.
Extra features
There are various types of The Bully available. The standard Bully drags up to 1000 kilos and comes in a normal and stainless steel version, especially created for food distribution. The latest model has a number of special features, including the option of programming two speeds, one for longer distances and one for flexible manoeuvres. Movexx has also developed a heavier version, which pulls up to 2500 kilos. Standnumber: 08.077

TERTS FIRST: THE IVECO MASSIF
Iveco has entered the new professional off-road vehicle market with the Massif, which offers all the performance and comfort of a SUV.
Four-wheel drive vehicle
The Iveco Massif is a 4x4 vehicle with a front-wheel drive that can be switched off to improve on-road performance. The Iveco Massif’s power transmission with off-road reduction gearbox is installed directly behind the six-gear box. This solution results in more compact mechanical components and reduces the space required, especially in the vertical direction. This results in a lower bodywork position, which is more suited to driving at higher speeds.
Rear differential locking system
A rear differential locking system is also available. The chassis with robust box-shaped longerons and a rigid rear axle guarantees high sustainability and reliability, even when used heavily.
Great flexibility
All wheels are equipped with disc brakes. The large capacity and flexibility of the three-litre Iveco engine will be especially appreciated on the road. There is a choice between a HPI model with a capacity of 146 hp and a torque of 350Nm, and a HPT model with a capacity of 176 hp and a torque of 400Nm.
Modest fuel consumption
Both power sources comply with the strict Euro IV environmental regulations and are well-suited for use in urban areas. Despite its high performance, the Massif has very modest fuel consumption, partly due to the fact that the four-wheel drive can be switched off. Standnumber: 01.011

SCANIA PRESENTS EURO-V RANGE WITH EGR AND NEW CABINS
Scania is the first European truck manufacturer to present a full range of engines at TERTS 2007 that comply with Euro V regulations using EGR rather than AdBlue. Scania will also present two new cabin models.
Exhaust gas recirculation
Scania is the first manufacturer to produce a full range of Euro V engines based on exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). These five and six cylinder in-line engines have a maximum capacity of 480 hp at a torque of 2500 Nm. The eight-cylinder Euro V engines will still use SCR (AdBlue).
Two new cabin models
Possibly even more important news for drivers: Scania is adding two new cabin models to the current range. The well-known R-cabins will remain the same, but the smallest P model has been given another upward extension with a Highline roof. The previous model was called the P-Topline and the latest model will be called P-Highline.
Modular construction
The G range is an entirely new model that will also be presented. Situated between the P and R models, the G range has obvious benefits for the construction industry, although Scania emphasises that it can also be used in other transport situations. Scania can produce cabins of many sizes due to a modular construction: All cabins have an equal width and both windscreen and doors are the same for all models. Standnumber: 01.003

INTELLIGENT COOLING BY GOVERS:
Clean, efficient, silent and safe. Govers E.T. BV in Chaam, the Netherlands, has developed an ultra-quiet, efficient and most importantly clean transport refrigeration system that does not require a separate diesel unit.
The heart
The Govet Legend is powered by the vehicle’s engine, which it starts and turns off automatically. Both emission and noise decrease tremendously. The heart of the Govet Legend consists of an electrical generator which is connected directly to the front of the crank-shaft pulley of the truck engine. The generator supplies 380 Volt power for the cooling unit in the trailer or semi-trailer. Intelligent electronics start the engine automatically and turn it off when the appropriate temperature is reached, even when the driver is sleeping or absent.
Less noise & less pollution
A recently held comparison test by refrigerated transport company Huijbregts in Tilburg, the Netherlands, indicated that at 7 DbA, the Govet system produces half the noise of a conventional cooling unit. The emission levels in comparison to regular refrigeration were even more spectacular: Nearly 100% less soot, 85% less NOx emission and 74% less CO². The Govet system also used half a litre less fuel per running hour.
Less weight
Transport companies will also benefit from a decreased weight of up to 500 kilos, because this weight is normally on the front of the trailer putting extra pressure on the axle. The Govet generator weighs only 80 kilos and is situated right above the front axle. Other benefits are reduced maintenance costs and noise, which will certainly please drivers. Standnumber: 11.022

HYTRUCK POWERED BY HYDROGEN
Hytruck from Beverwijk, the Netherlands, is the first company to exhibit a working distribution truck powered completely by hydrogen at TERTS. This functioning prototype vehicle emphasises the show’s theme of sustainability and will be marketed commercially in the future.
Electrical energy
Hytruck used a Mitsubishi Canter of 7.5 tons as its starting point. The engine and entire drive system, including drive shaft and fuel tank, were removed to create space for an AFC, a battery pack and hydrogen tank. The hydrogen is converted into electrical energy in the AFC, which powers two engine hubs on the rear wheels.
Hydrogen
According to Erik Beers and co-initiator Jan Boudesteijn, the vehicle should be able to travel a distance of 500 kilometres on one hydrogen tank. ´This has not, of course, been achieved yet. Although we currently use modern, ultra-clean drive mechanisms, we are yet to benefit from the advantages this mechanism offers with regards to the vehicle’s construction. Because there aren’t any classic drive components, it is easier to build a hydrogen vehicle with engine hubs as a unitary body. This will result in lower floors and independent wheel suspension. The low floors will be especially practical for city distribution.´ Standnumber: 03.003

Record breaking Old-timer Convoy
The Routiers Old-Timers Ride will take place on Sunday, October 28, 2007 during TERTS 2007.
No less than 50 vintage trucks and vans are expected to drive in convoy from Utrecht via the A2, A27, A1 and Ring A10 to Amsterdam RAI. These wonderful; old vehicles will leave at around 09.30 from Utrecht and can be admired at TERTS 2007 from around 11.30. This unique convoy hopes to win a spot in the Guinness Book of Records.
