Iveco presents new Daily CNG
At the European Road Transport Show 2007, Iveco will be exhibiting the new Daily CNG which was recently introduced in Italy. This van makes Iveco one of the few commercial vehicle manufacturers to sell a heavy van with a natural gas driven engine straight from the factory.

All Iveco Daily CNG versions are equipped with the 3.0 litre F1C CNG engine. This four-cylinder, 16 valve, turbo-charged engine provides 136 hp (100 kW) and 350 Nm of torque. The standard version comes with a manual, six-speed gearbox. As of early 2008, an automatic Agile gearbox will also be available.

Five tanks
The Daily CNG comes equipped with five tanks with a total capacity of 220 litres. An optional sixth tank can be installed to provide a total capacity of 250 litres. Iveco has not yet issued fuel consumption figures or a range.

Ecologically responsible vehicle
The Daily CNG's emission values are well under the limit prescribed by the Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards. The CNG engine equipped Daily is therefore regarded as an ecologically sound vehicle which qualifies for the EEV (Enhanced Environmental Vehicle) classification according to European environmental legislation. All the natural gas versions bear the CNG logo and the hummingbird symbol.

Truck and Trailer Telematics 2007
Co-located for the first time with the European Road Transport Show, this year Telematics Update's Truck and Trailer event will be held on October 30 and 31, 2007 at the Amsterdam RAI.

Simple track & trace options
Telematics technology has the power to transform fleet management systems beyond simple track and trace to advanced, real-time services that will slash operator’s costs and push up their efficiency. But adoption so far has been slow…

Make sense of the fragmented market for fleet management services
The Truck and Trailer Telematics conference is the industry’s leading forum for telematics service providers, hardware manufacturers, content providers and more to get together and discuss the challenges and opportunities for telematics. If you want to make sense of the fragmented market for fleet management services and drive up adoption, then this conference is for you! For more information visit: www.telematicsupdate.com.
Jost with the new FlashTronic fifth-wheel coupling safety
Jost, the supplier for, among other things, truck and trailer components will be exhibiting a large number of innovations in the field of couplings at the European Road Transport Show 2007. The company has also forged ahead in the field of safety: the FlashTronic is an electronic device which provides an optical indication of whether the fifth-wheel coupling has been properly locked. The FlashTronic can only be applied to the JSK 42 series.

Green light
The FlashTronic works with a Reed contact on the fifth-wheel handle and a waterproof housing on the fifth-wheel coupler plate. If the coupler plate has been properly locked, the magnet on the handle is in the correct position and a green light flashes on the coupler plate. The unit operates independently of vehicle electrics and its battery has a three-year lifespan. Jost is of the opinion that the device will provide a positive contribution to reducing the number of separation accidents.

Low deck coupling plate
Another first Jost will be exhibiting at the European Road Transport Show 2007 is the new Jost JSK 42 MK low deck coupling plate. This fifth-wheel coupling has a total height of a mere 140 mm which makes it eminently suitable for use in volume transport. The standard version is equipped with a FlashTronic and has an elongated operating handle. This type is referred to as the comfort coupling and can be operated with one hand. CNG-equipped Fiat Doblo CARGO at TERTS
Although the make has been doing well with natural gas-driven models, few people in the Netherlands are aware that the Fiat Cargo can be supplied with a natural gas-driven engine.

The CNG Fiat Doblo Cargo (Compressed Natural Gas) is available in two versions with the same four-cylinder, 1600cc engine. The Cargo has a theoretical range of around 380 kilometres.

Dual tank
The vehicle is dual tank, which means it also has an ordinary petrol tank. The three gas tanks have been installed under the floor which is good as it means no cargo space is lost. As far as emission values are concerned, the CNG Cargo's emissions are well above the Euro V standard and the vehicle is therefore very suitable for entrepreneurs who wish to present themselves in an environmentally-friendly manner in inner cities.
New trailer for vertical loading
N.C.H. Hydraulic Systems BV, in cooperation with other parties, has developed a trailer for the vertical loading of 40ft sea containers, without the use of a guide frame. <

This ISO 4390 trailer also enables the vertical loading and transportation of highcube 40ft sea containers within the statutory driving height. The use of a lifting pulley enables the same system to also permit the vertical loading and transport of 20ft sea containers. The idea for this trailer came from the growing demand for the vertical loading of 40ft sea containers. For further information, see www.nchhydraulic.com.
Renault Megaspace Vega
The Renault Magnum has been around for some 16 years now. According to Renault it was high time to show the European Road Transport Show 2007 that the Renault Vega, with its remarkable cab shape, is still alive and well. A limited number of a slightly less advanced version of this prototype will be built and sold.

Galaxies and space ships
The VEGA version of the Magnum that Renault Trucks will be exhibiting at the European Road Transport Show 2007, is a prototype which the manufacturer wishes to use to show that comfort, luxury and daily business can definitely be combined. ‘’The name and shape of the vehicle are reminiscent of galaxies and space ships. On the outside, this is reinforced by the blue neon details and the tight-lined rear fairing,’’ explains PR manager Edi Enschede of Renault Trucks Nederland.

Ultimate comfort
Inside, the kitchen area that replaces the bottom bunk behind the driver's seat is a conspicuous addition. The vehicle is entirely attuned to the successful owner-driver who wants maximum comfort. The well improved upper bunk is also remarkable. The adaptations to the interior have not adversely affected storage. In fact, the kitchen area even adds cupboards to the vehicle.

Countless hidden storage space
In fact, the Magnum's strong point is the countless hidden storage spaces tucked away under cushions and seats. A lot of belongings can be stored away in this fashion, though it takes squirrel-like memory to remember where you have put everything.

Limited edition
Renault has created a limited edition of the Spacy Vega for daily use which is identical on the outside, though the interior is somewhat more traditional.
