´YOU ARE INDISPENABLE SHOW´
Drivers´ event with an edgy mix of entertainment and information at the Transport Plaza stand, aimed at drivers who are proud of their profession. On October 27 and 28, The European Road Transport Show (TERTS) will put the spotlight on truck drivers.
Professional people
VTL, the centre for development of professionals working in the transport and logistics industry, aims to place professional drivers centre stage with this special event. A mix of entertainment and more serious issues will affirm the drivers´ pride in their work. The underlying theme is to limit the turnover of personnel in the industry and retain people within the sector.
Extra drivers
The ´You are indispensable Show´ is one of many activities developed by VTL as part of the Extra Drivers project. It has been commissioned by employer and employee organisations in the Netherlands to persuade more people to become professional drivers. This is much needed as there is currently a major shortage of personnel. The ´Make yourself indispensable´ slogan is partly focussed on recruitment. It is equally important to focus on the existing drivers: The transport and logistics sector needs them to stay behind the wheel.
Affirm and connect
A recent survey in the Netherlands showed that while current drivers are largely satisfied with their profession, around 2750 people leave each year. This number must be reduced in order to counteract the shortage of personnel. By placing the spotlight on current drivers, VTL wants to show its appreciation for these professionals and affirm their pride in the driving profession. This will help develop a closer bond between drivers and the industry.
Ccmedian and performer Jelle Kuiper
Comedian and performer Jelle Kuiper is the presenter of the ´You are indispensable Show´, which will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 October at 11.00 hrs, 13.00 hrs and 15.00 hrs at Transport Plaza, stand 05.011 at TERTS. It is an infotainment event, addressing both serious and humorous issues. The prize winners of the Dutch professional contests, also known as the VTL Truck Experience, will be presented at TERTS. There will also be plenty of entertainment to enjoy such as stand-up comedy and music.

VOLVO, 13 LITRE VOLVO ENGINES IN EURO IV ALSO WITH EGR
At TERTS 2007, Volvo will present the new D13B engine block, complying with Euro IV via exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), and consequently without AdBlue. The engine will be available in 360, 400, 440 and 500 hp versions. The D13B engines have a very high torque at low rpm.
Volvo with Euro IV norm
With the exception of the 500 hp model, the D13B is also available for the Volvo FM. Extraordinarily, the Volvo meets the Euro IV norm without using an added particle filter. This allows the vehicle to be equipped with a vertical exhaust, which is a method often used in construction.
Exhaust gas treatment unit
The entire range is highly suitable for construction vehicles. The absence of an exhaust-gas treatment unit saves space at the chassis, which is very important for multi-axis vehicles. Due to a long pipe, the 13-litre engines have a very high torque at very low rpm, making the engine very suitable for off-road use.

NEW: ISUZU
After being absent for years, Isuzu is back in Europe and will be attending the coming European Road Transport Show. Isuzu Benelux will be coming to Amsterdam with two models and a broad range of bodies.
New cab
The European Road Transport Show may possibly also feature a first look at a very new cab for the Isuzu N series and a BPM-free, double cab for the D-Max Pick-up. After regaining strong representation in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg thanks to the founding of Isuzu Benelux last year, the commercial vehicle brand will be attending The European Road Transport Show (TERTS) 2007 for the first time this year.
Logical decision
"Participating in the TERTS is an entirely logical decision for us’’, explains commercial director Walter Smet of Isuzu Benelux. ‘’Our D-Max Pick-up trucks and N Series light trucks up to 7.5 tons operate in two market niches. For us, the show in Amsterdam is an excellent trade exhibition which brings together large groups of professionals in a single space. We cannot afford to miss it, to show who we are and what we are capable of.”
Primeur
Smet continues: "We will be showing a number of vehicles with various bodies at TERTS 2007. Naturally, we will have something new too: at TERTS we wish to exhibit our version of an extended, BPM-free double cab for the D-Max 4x4 powered Pick-up. The D-Max is an important vehicle for us which was awarded the title of 4x4 of the year 2007."
Various standard bodies
His Dutch colleague, Ron Visser of Isuzu Benelux, adds another first for the public. "As far as the
N series is concerned, the TERTS crowd will be able to view the various standard bodies we supply. Trucks with full box, open beds or a dumper on our narrow, standard and double cabs. Products which will definitely appeal to buyers due to their perfect price-quality ratio."
